Penn ED rate

What was the percentage of people who got into Penn ED thias year?

96% (10 char)

yes, 96% /**/

i think it's really around like 25%

daily pennsylvanian should release the official stats in the coming weeks. Last year it was the first week of January.

Everybody got in but you.

I keed, I keed.

I think it's around 27%-29%. shrugaround 70% of all applicants are either accepted or deferred.

On CC, I think the admit rate was almost 70% but out in the real world it is more like 30%.

Im worried mostly about the deferred rate...

someone posted a nice/uplifting post about the defer rate:

many kids who are legacy or URM are deferred out of courtesy to their parents (they dont want parents who donate to get mad if their kid isnt accepted, so rather than reject, the defer. Ultimately they will probably reject them).

I'm glad I'm not an URM or legacy lol

I'm surprised I got deferred, people w/ better stats got rejected. just goes to show how random this thing is huh

yea people with worse stats got accepted.

this is such an arbitrary process

i agree it's a somewhat random process, but no need to sound bitter about it.. = /

lol he seems very bitter. relax venus it aint the end of the world

the most important factors that Penn considers according to collegeboard are one's character/quality, one's recommendations, and the rigor of one's courses. then the next important are basically everything else...

not all legacies and URMs who were deferred are not qualified/were deferred just as a courtesy. I think that this is true for some cases, but certainly not for a big majority. True, there are legacies and URMs who are not as qualified and will be deferred for that reason, but there are also plenty who are just as qualified as "everyone else"
