WOW! 82 posts in 3.5 hours!

Now, that has got to be a CC record!

what a sad bunch of folks. we are depressing people.

what are you talking about, 4815162342?

This stuff is fun. I view college admissions as a strategic game, in which the winners receive a great award!

is this the list of states with the most applicants this year... or all the states with applicants... because obviously my wonderful state of lousiana is not on there hahaha

OMG i am an asian from NY, does that mean that i have a better chance of getting in? I wonder how long island did this year.

^^^this article should boost ur confidence somewhat...doesnt mean NY apps didnt increase, just that they didnt achieve a record or anything but still ure better off today then u were yesterday :)

yay :) (10char)

Woot for fewer applicants.
No woot for being Caucasian.

Among 534 international early applicants, 100 were accepted

I don't like last year's ED admission statistic, neither do I like the 13.1% increase in overseas applicants this year. Let's hope for the best for us intl guys.

The tag with all the states and such is an internal Bloomberg abbreviation system to identify which media markets in which this becomes a "top" story.

If Asians really did cut their applications, this may be what Penn needs to dump affirmative action. Nothing makes ivory-tower liberals sacrifice their proclaimed principles like threats to their own self-interest (in this case, rankings)...

The drop is credited towards the decrease in Asian applicants... but does anyone know or can estimate how big the drop is? I mean it must be significant for it to be mentioned as the reason for ED applicant drop...

b@r!um, did you ever live in the U.S.? You speak very good English...I never noticed you were from Germany until you said that

Thanks Jyankees.
I spent my sophomore year in the US. But to be honest I think my English sucks.

Another disappointed international checking in.
Well, not actually disappointed, since my opinion of Penn has gone down and down since I applied and getting rejected would not kill me.

^^^why? seems like you hate the school now or something what happened?

yeah why?

I love ham (to make to chars)

wait, this isn't even substantiated, and i think people are kind of taking it either too good or too bad. Penn will still be just as hard to get into as before. Don't worry, your app is in, you've done the best you could have. Ultimately, you'll realize that you'll be happy anywhere you go and a couple of years from now, you just might laugh at how nervous we all were.

or we might just laugh at how ridiculous your name is, shaqdaddy.
haha JK! I'm a bit hyper today.

FOURTEEN DAYS! =)
