Despite the fact that I sent my SATs to Penn on December 16, they have not yet received them and the deadline is tomorrow. Can anyone answer the following two questions?
1) Is the January 1 deadline for the application itself (common app + supplement) or for all materials (SATs, transcripts, etc.), too?
2) If it is still possible to make the deadline, should I re-send my SAT scores? Did I send them to the wrong place? I sent them to "University of Pennsylvania Undergraduate Admissions."

I also sent them fairly early, and they also aren’t listed on the application yet. For me, the problem might be that I sent in my scores before I submitted my application. But the other possibility is that Penn hasn’t updated or received or updated scores recently, which would explain the problem for both of us. I heard that colleges tend to receive scores at certain points in large batches, not sure if that’s really true. I don’t think you need to send them again. If you’ve already sent it in once, it shouldn’t be an issue. And even if there is, I’m sure the admissions office will be understanding.

I wouldn’t worry or resend. I applied ED and sent my scores in early October. Yet, it was the last item they received (and my transcript & counselor rec were sent via paper!). So don’t panic—they’ll get it!

It takes time to process materials. This happened with me and almost every college. As long as you sent it early enough, it’s fine. If it’s missing, they’ll contact you. I doubt they’d hold it against you if things got lost while processing, in the mail, etc.

Yup! They won’t automatically throw your app out if they don’t get your SATs spot on. Things come in daily, and you can imagine the mayhem as thousands of SAT scores and supplements land in their office/computers. They will let you know about your missing materials, and there’s isn’t a penalty since you turned in the scores in December. Give it a bit more time.

^ Remember that the Admissions Office (and portal) was focussing on ED applications through the first third of December (and processing ED applicant replies/deposits through December 20th), and then came winter break. Give them some time to update the portal. Also, note that they give themselves until mid-February to contact applicants about any missing documents:

Yeah, there’s now a bolded note in the applicants portal that processing may take up to three weeks, so I guess we just need to chill for now :)
