<p>My friend got an interview and I didn’t. Did I mention that the aforesaid interviewer lives 10 minutes away from my house?

<p>haha...dont worry....i have at least 50 penn alumni in my town...and at least 5 of them interview....and i did NOT get an interview while my friends from school got their interviews....</p>

<p>I got into Penn without an interview, as well. I was accepted back in December.</p>
<p>Word. I got no interview, the other ED'er from my school did. We both got in. yay.</p>
<p>Congrats, Choco. Unless I get admitted to Brown or Yale, I'll be there in the fall. I just have to locate off-campus housing, and from what everyone is saying, West Philly is NOT a good place to live. I hope I can find a place where I will feel safe.</p>
<p>It's not as bad as everyone says. Most of the people that say that come from the boring burbs. You're from a city (Houston), so I bet you'll be used to it.</p>
<p>That's what I figured. Plus, being that I am 32 years old, what 18/19 year olds consider "dangerous" might not seem so bad to someone my age, ya know?</p>

I know down here in Houston, people treat Texas and Texas A&M like they are the "Second Coming of Christ".</p>

<p>Penn isn't as well respected here (Philly) as it is in, say, New York. I dunno why. Some people don't even know its an Ivy.</p>
<p>That's the same here. The average "Billy-Bob" and "Jethro" doesn't know it's an Ivy here. However, the people that you're going to interview with for a job/internship will DEFINITLEY know, and I guess those are the only ones that matter.</p>
