Well, I’ve been practicing law for over 30 years and my Chicago degree STILL opens doors for me. I haven’t noticed the effect of the drop in ranking. :)

People who think Penn is all pre-professional really don’t “get” the place at all. Actually, pre-professional is sort of a stupid term, although one we tend to use a lot here on CC. Don’t most college kids aspire to jobs (perhaps after grad school)? Just so happens that many Penn students (and Williams, Chicago, NYU, other Ivys) aspire to jobs that actually pay enough for them to be able to move out of Mommy and Daddy’s house. Not unique to Penn. Does pre-professional mean law or medicine? Again-not unique to Penn. Wharton? Somewhat unique to Penn, but we can sort of stick them all in one building and focus on the rest of the place. :)
