Lol, it is a pretty commendable piece of well-written propaganda.

And here’s another great Penn video to watch:

[YouTube - “True Learning” - University of Pennsylvania](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nGpOizUIY60&feature=related)

pretty well made.

Even their promotional videos kick ass… Penn wins.

pretty sweet

Penn “making history” by being the most unresponsive school ever. When will they release the waitlist information? Is that how they work? Place deadlines and then ignore them? I am tired already. The video is bs.

dude chill out… i’m not sure how it works this year but every year prior to this one there has been no ‘set in stone’ deadline… it was just an ambiguous “mid june” kind of thing. the chances of getting off the waitlist now are basically negligable, so move on. i feel for you though, i went through the same thing. looking back i can’t believe i wasted so much emotion on hoping to get into a school i would have turned out hating.

^Well I can not completely give up given that there are still Some people who are being accepted. I know the probability is small to none but there still is a chance. I do not want to move on, I put just too much into this.

Did you get accepted there? and Why did you start hating Penn?

I’m already a student at Penn, but i originally wanted to go somewhere else REALLY REALLY badly. Unhealthily so. I got wait listed (eventually rejected). Everything you see in Penn now was what I saw in this other school (I’d rather not name it) and I became slightly obsessed. It’s not that I dreaded coming to Penn… I just didn’t have a particularly compelling reason to want to come. What I didn’t realize was that after the first wave of admits, they are really only accepting people who live in certain target areas or have some other kind of hook. They are NOT accepting just more ‘well-rounded’ people (that was done during RD and the first wait list people).

And no, I love Penn… what I meant was that looking back, and I realize this is a bit cliche, it truly was a blessing in disguise that I never got off the wait list. I wanted to go to this ‘other’ school for awful reasons, and I know that although I might have been content there, I’ve ended up vastly happier here than I could have imagined.

Basically, moral of the story is: try your very best to love the school you are going to attend (unless by some weird turn of events penn accepts you off the wait list), and if it helps, find things about penn you dislike (including their seemingly cruel wait list system!).

pm me if you want to talk about it further. I know exactly how you are feeling, and trust me, you’ll get over it… it’s just a matter of time.

um me…? not sure why that would characterize me as a ■■■■■… and if you are talking about stanford09 i doubt it…

Lebby doesn’t sound like a ■■■■■ to me. Sounds like a true Penn convert who has seen the light :)

Before calling someone a ■■■■■, look at their post history, idiots…

The release of US News’s graduate rankings certainly vindicate the video. Almost every department seemed to increase in standing - English is now ranked #4, tied with Harvard, as an example. Pretty crazy.
