<p>Does penn give out anything (scholarships/and what not) for people that join the band or marching band? or do they not care.</p>

<p>They don't, I've talked to the music department and they just said if I wanted i could send a tape, but then admissions said that it wouldn't make a difference, just list honors instead.</p>

<p>i'm curious - what makes you guys want to join penn band? i've done marching band all of high school (flute), and i like it... but i'm not sure i'll have the time in college. is there anyone else who just wants to do concert band/wind ensemble/orchestra? i'm considering it, but i looked at the audition music on the penn website and i'm getting intimidated. i play oboe by the way, haha.</p>
