Penn or Berkeley?

My major is bioengineering (pre-med for now), and though Berkeley is great in engineering, I'm not completely sure about staying in that major. I've heard about the difficulty in changing majors, so I don't know if Berkeley is best for me.

However, Berkeley is much cheaper than Penn (in-state tuition).

I'm wondering what all of you think about these two schools. Also, I may want to pursue a dual degree in Penn (is that possible in berkeley)?

-i put the same question out in the penn forum to get opinions from both

If you're already in engineering, it probably won't be too hard to switch. Switching into EECS MAY be a little bit of a problem. An engineering major could answer this question better than I can.

Yes, you can double major at Berkeley. I've even heard of triple majors, although they are very very rare.

You can't recieve two degrees (simultaneously), unless they're from two different colleges.

Well, I know Penn and Cornell are great for bioengineering...I'm not sure about Berkeley. It depends on what dual degree you want to receive at Penn, because some majors contain a lot of required classes.

Berkeley has a good BioE program (good at worst).

As far as dual degrees go with Berkeley, the school doesn't do a good job of advertising what's available. Roam around the engineering website, and call the college staff and administrators.
