Penn or Columbia for comp sci

Can anyone tell me how these two schools compare for computer science such as job opportunities, strength of program, etc.?

Are you asking UPenn? You have to be specific because there are UPenn and Penn State.

i seriously think the quality is about the same. Penn and Columbia both have business school, and neither are superior in computer science. In terms of job outlook - I think Columbia is a bit better because it’s located in New York City. Consider the location, Columbia is definitely better - you have the entire New York City open to look for internship! Consider Google is here in NYC too.

If you are comparing NYU with Columbia (note, NYU, not NYU-Poly, and even if it’s NYU-Poly), I think Columbia is superior.

The tuition should be more or less the same - now the question is how much FA will you get from either school. I do encourage you too apply to both schools.

Columbia…!

I don’t know about the undergrad programs but as far as grad programs, Columbia and NYU are not that far apart in Computer Science (20th vs. 30th) but if this helps, NYU has the #1 applied math program and has a Scientific Computing program which mixes both the Applied Math & CS programs.
