Which One Is Better?stern Or Wharton?

Discuss …

Wharton man its number 1 undergrad

go to stern and open up the wharton slot for me =)

A few Things to consider

-the top half of students at either school will be the same in terms of credentials/intelligence, however the bottom half wharton will be superior to that of stern's
-nyc vs philadelphaa
-the curve at stern is more brutal than at wharton
-if you achieve high grades (3.3+) givent the curve, and can interview well, you'll get offers, coming out of either school
-wharton has the reputation as the gold standard in business, but Stern has the better finance program
-Penn is Ivy League (though the least prestigious and selective one) and NYU is not. NYU ug is solid but Stern is in par with any top school.

i would just like to point out that penn is NOT the least prestiguous/selective Ivy League school by far. Perhaps that was true decades ago, but not today... your assertion is uninformed and obsolete.

stern has better finance? on what planet?

Honestly, both will get you what you want if you do well. The question is where would you rather be. Personally I think people will have most of their life to live in the city, so I would go to wharton in a second. You only get to go to college once.

"stern has better finance? on what planet?"

Try looking at faculty reputation and recruiting reputation and you'll see what planet, stupid.

sounds like a disgruntled wharton reject to me.

I believe Wharton has the better program, but Penn and NYU are drastically different in atmosphere. Are you sure you would would be comfortable at a traditional campus college like Penn, as well as NYU and its sprawling campus, which is virtually Manhattan?

More like a satisfied individual who chose Stern over Wharton

The only thing that has made Stern good in finance is its location in our financial capital. However, even that won't make it better than Wharton. I'm not an expert in comparing schools, but U.S. news ug business rankings, and (though some may argue its not as relevant) numerous mba rankings, will place Wharton has the premier school in the field of Finance. Stern is not even allways mentioned. The most notable purely Finance business newspaper in the world, The Financial Times, has ranked Wharton number one on a consistent basis in the last several years.
Management is to Harvard Business School as Finance is to Wharton. Everyone knows that.

and the only thing making Wharton better is the fact it is the first bschool in America. It has no better professors or academics.

lol better finance program at Stern? wow ive grown tired arguing with you quaker.

Penn. You want a school that has an actual campus...

better professors? how about Jeremy Siegel

Or Robert engle, Nobel prize winner and ashwat damadoran the world's foremost expert in valuation. let's keep going...

Yes, and while we are at it we can also point out that he is no a nobel prize winner, as there is no nobel prize in economics.

Why are you guys fighting over Trade schools, er business school. Why don't you get a good liberal art education first and worry about honing your skills later on at an MBA school or at work place.

because liberal arts degrees are a waste of mommy and daddy's money and useless in the real world. thats why.
