Anybody stil waiting for an Alumni interview
I am! I applied on the 5th.
OK. I was concerned as I have not heard from alumni yet
any international applicants from India who have heard back from the interviewer itself?
I know it’s hard to be patient, but there’s no reason to be concerned if you’ve not heard about an interview yet.
@menongirl International applicants are often, but not always, interviewed virtually. There’s a good chance you’ll hear something soon.
I probably sound like a broken record, but if you have not had an interview email please check the spam filters on the email you used on your application. It’s also pretty early in the ‘interview season’. Area coordinators are still assigning interviews. I received several last night - and I’ve yet to accept them. Be patient - that interview request may still be coming. And for what it is worth, more than once I’ve gotten the interview request VERY CLOSE to the report deadline.
Just had my interview over the phone, and it was absolutely amazing! We were both English majors, dancers, and very interested in trying new things and just had a lot of similar viewpoints and interests. She was only 25. It left me wanting to be friends with her! Don’t be nervous if you haven’t had one or are scared for yours; they play an extremely small part in the admissions process.
I’m so jealous of everyone’s amazing interview experiences. My Yale interview was more of a conversation, but Penn was just my interviewer asking me a list of questions and taking notes on my answers. I’m kinda bummed, just because I love Penn and wanted to win over my interviewer, and that was pretty difficult considering the confines of my interview.
@marshmallowpop, same experience here! Every other college was a conversation, penn was just question - answer
My interview with Penn was probably my best of all…Tufts was the worst, followed by Georgetown
It definitely depended on the methods of each interviewer, and their interest in my accomplishments. Whether they were impressed or not…you could definitely tell!
With the Penn interviewer, she was super nice and gave me tons of advice…she even gave me career advice, such as considering Wharton! I took that as a compliment for sure, considering my planned career path was to be a veterinarian! Talk about opposite directions, but she being an incredibly successful businesswoman, I took her advice to heart.
Tufts on the other hand was “Tuf”. It was just question after question, she even said “okay” in that negative voice after my responses, like my answers weren’t good enough. It didn’t help the fact that it was via Skype, and we got disconnected numerous times. There was also that voice overlap thing going on that dampened the entire conversation. I’d be talking and then she’d be talking at the same time! It turned out she had a connection problem on her end…oh well. I made the best of it, and tried to take advantage of the good connection towards the end. She was really only down-to-earth when she was talking about her own experiences. You win some you lose some
Hey everyone. I was deferred in the early round. Good luck!
@Much2learn I answered Mahatma Gandhi, Albert Einstein, and my Grandfather before he had Alzheimer’s Disease.
I gave reasons for all three of these people that coincided with the other things I mentioned in my interview about my interests and passions. What would you answer?
I have a schedule change. Where would I report this to Upenn?
I applied to the School of Nursing! trying not to get my hopes up, it would be a dream to get in.
@MRisan27 So did I! Best of luck to you
@plmdin If you don’t mind me asking, when is the report deadline? Do you know if admissions looks at apps before that deadline?
RD interviews take place between December and February. Applications are reviewed during - and beyond - that same time frame.
Am I going to be accepted by UPenn? Will I be accepted to any of the top 20s I applied to (specifically Penn)? Why am I awake right now? So many questions…
Applied to Jerome Fisher :)) Solid rejection there, hoping to get in SEAS for my second choice major.
SEAS applicant, applied on january 5th, havent been contacted for an interview yet
@Bored1997 Did your decision letter actually say you were rejected from the jerome fisher program or did it just say you were deferred?
