does Penn look at the writing portion of the SAT 1 or just the math and verbal? because UT Austin and some other schools only consider the M and V

Penn definitely looks at the writing. However, its weight compared to the other sections is still questionable.

I'd think that they'd look at the writing as if it were an SATII. That wouldn't mean that you don't have to take two SATIIs, just that if you do well on the writing section, it'd definitely help you chances of getting in, in my opinion.

NOOOOOOO .... sat1 writing wont be even compared to sat2 writing......

wuuuut.
The SAT2 writing is no longer offered, bc it is now the SAT1 Writing. So smartmind, I don't really understand.

well for this yr many many applicants will still submit sat2 writing score....(they may hav taken it b4)...and colleges are already accutomed to the old sat2 writing score.....

BUT

all i wanna say is that this sat2 writing is not comparable to sat1 writing and scores cant be equated......for both

SM

I read somewhere that they can be compared... (SATI writing and SATII writing)

I think the percentiles need to be released before any comparisons can be made. Also, it seems as though it is easier to get a higher score on the SAT II version over the SAT I version.

KRabble88, CB finally did release percentiles for the first 4 tests. The SAT I and SAT II writing can't be compared. Collegeboard says that. The curve is harsher on the SAT I and percentiles way different.
