Penn - SAT scores

I'm really worried that my SAT score will prevent me from getting into Penn.

For extracurriculars, I have been part of ASA for 3 years and holding a position next year, I am starting my 4th season of sports (2nd year), I've been very active at church service since I was 10, and I'm part of SNHS and NHS. I did science fair for two years and did two additional science competitions freshmen year. Inbetween, I've been parts of some other clubs for a year or two.

I have taken 4 APs up until this point and I'm taking 3 more as a senior. This summer, I am doing dual enrollment because I couldn't take all the classes I wanted in my roster.

I have a 3.8 GPA as of now and I'm in the top 5-6% of the class, but my SAT score is a 1820 (R: 540, M:640, W:640). I scored 590 on the SAT II for bio and 620 for US History.
I am really worried right now.

Your SAT is well below Penn’s 25th percentile… but you post is one entire statement, what is your question?

I hate to tell you this. But your SAT scores will not cut it for UPenn unless you are an incredibly impacted applicant (inner city school URM with almost no income, or D1 level athlete). Also, a 3.8 is a little low as well. If you are an unhooked applicant, the target scores for Penn are 2150+, and 2 subject tests 700+.

What does it mean to be unhooked?

To clear some things up, my exact GPA is about a 3.85 unweighted, which I know still might be a little low.
Some background: We live in a decent suburbs near the city so there are fair opportunities. Yes, I am Asian, but being Asian doesn’t mean much to the Ivies anymore since we’re not underrepresented… but neither of my parents went to college and doubtfully finished high school, so I am a first generation college student. Neither of my parents works either; my father gets SSI for a disability.

Your GPA is fine for Penn, but your SAT score is low. I would not count on Penn at all.
