I am looking for opinions and reasons as to why a student should choose LH or PSU (We are a die hard psu family so I would like non biased answers to share with a friends family).
I think we need more details… major, Scholorship and backgroup but overall LH is a regional university compared to PSU … I’ve had this argument with my kid for JMU or GMU in Virginia… regional state schools are great if your staying instate but national are another story… difference in academics, research opportunities, different recruiting by companies, powerful alumni network, and global brand plus if you look at starting and medium salaries huge difference between regional and national schools
Thanks - a lot of your arguments for a regional school vs PSU is what I indicated. Major is film - No scholarships.

What are the net costs of each?

Do you care about football?

Does the college offer a film major? I see Penn State listed here, but not Lock Haven http://talk.qa.collegeconfidential.com/visual-arts-film-majors/701608-big-list-of-film-cinema-programs.html

have you asked in http://talk.qa.collegeconfidential.com/visual-arts-film-majors/

Do they prefer a big or smaller school?

How will they fit in academically? Lock Haven has a 32% 4 year graduation rate vs 67% for Penn State LH has SAT scores that are 200 points lower than PS.
Thanks! I am PSU 100 percent but wanted some other opinions to share with my friend! Lock Haven has a very small communications department and not really film oriented. Interesting info about the graduation rate- that is a pretty phenomenal difference. I do not think the 10 thousand diff is worth it with respect to the education. I appreciate the input from all who have responded. Good info and links!
I am concluding you have visited both campuses… we are heading there in April to checkout UP
Yes both campuses have been visited
