I have been accepted to Penn State Altoona and Im going there in the fall. My plan is to do excellently my first two years then transfer to UP to finish as a film major. What are my chances of getting the transfer? And how good will my grades have to look and How many credits should I have at the end of my sophomore year in order to transfer? Ive heard mixed reviews on this 2+2 plan and I'm still trying to figure it out.

What i understand is if you do alright your first two years you’re all but guaranteed the switch. They don’t even consider it a transfer.

What is your high school GPA and your SAT score? I know some people with low GPAs who have been accepted to UP as a freshman. Anyway, I think that you are guaranteed to graduate from University Park as long as you don’t flunk Altoona.

Idk about film, but for some majors like biology, you have to finish at U-Park so the “transfer” is guaranteed. I’m interested in why you only found mixed reviews about the 2 + 2 program. I thought that the program had very favorable reviews. You save money your first two years, you could get hard/difficult classes out of the way at an easier branch campus, and the commonwealth campuses are very small compared to U-Park. I’m also in the 2 + 2 program so I’m interested in any information.
