PENN STATE ABINGTON problem

I am currently trying to transfer from CC to penn state abington.

my GPA from community college is a 2.51 with 51 credits (need a 2.0 to transfer and a 2.5 to transfer into a IST major)

I have no idea what my hs gpa was because its been 3 years and i just completely forgot.

When i checked my status, this is what it says on MyPennState application status:

Thank You for applying to Penn State. Our records show that your application is currently incomplete. Required supplemental materials are listed in the "Summary and Review" portion of your application. Please be sure that you have submitted these materials in order to complete your application.

Your application status will be updated on receipt of the missing required materials listed below.

College transcript(s) needed.

High school course requirements have not been met for the chosen major.

BTW college transcripts have already been sent in.

The major i chose was IST (information science and technology.

does anyone have any insight on what "high school course requirements have not been met means"?

You should call and find out but I suspect it may be that you are supposed to have your high school send a a high school transcript if you have not done that yet. When applying anywhere as a transfer you still need to send an official high school transcript because it is the prrof they need to show you actually graduated from high school so you can transfer into any major.

oooh ok, before hand it was saying it has recieved my hs transcripts but was incomplete because it didnt have my graduation date on the transcripts??

i emailed my old hs counselor and she said she left a message for the Penn State-Abington transfer counselor.

when i checked back this morning it says HS course requirements have not been met for the chosen major??

I then called Penn State abington this morning but the transfer counselor was not in til tomorrow but the lady i spoke with said it was probly because i didnt take calc or trig in hs (slacked off in hs). This doesnt make sense to me because i have met the minimum requirement at CC to satisfy picking a major at Abington. (2.5 gpa w/ 51 credits)

Do you guys think it has something to do with my hs transcripts “being missing” as stated below?

"Your application status will be updated on receipt of the missing required materials listed below.

sorry if i being extremely anxious (i am) but i just want some feed back or insite because i honestly dont want to wait til tomorrow =)

You really need to talk the correct counselor. It is starting to sound like you did not complete high school course work that is required for admission to Penn State in general. See [Penn State Undergraduate Admissions](Penn State Majors - Undergraduate Admissions) which shows you need three years of math, two of a foreign language, four years of English, three of social studies, and three of lab science, and as noted on this following page that is required even if you are a transfer applicant [Undergraduate Degree Programs: General Information](http://bulletins.psu.edu/bulletins/bluebook/general_information.cfm?section=Admission2). Thus, simply having total college credits needed for transfer does not mean you meet the high school requirements. Don’t know PS’s rules for what happens to a transfer applicant who does not have required high school courses who may have college courses that are equivalent or even higher.

I think i see the problem now, i never took trigonometry or higher in HS.

Does this mean i wont be getting accepted at all?

When you open the math link (“Some programs have additonal math requirements”) in that first page I cited you will see that the major you are applying for requires that your three years of high school math have included at least 1/2 unit (a semester) in trig. So that likely is the issue being identified. Do not know answer to whether that can be waived if, for example, you have made up for the deficiency with college math courses. That can only be answered by PS and the correct counselor.
