<p>I was just accepted today to Penn State Ag and Science college elderly campus. My stats where 3.8 GPA early grad by 1&1/2 years, out of state, 11 of 108 senior class rank. And my ACT was a 17. I say you have a decent chance!</p>

<p>I would say both seem like matches. Just remember to stress what’s unique about you, like your internship with the mayor and the other interesting ec’s that I’m sure you have. Chance meee back please</p>

<p>Maryland GPA’s run high. NJ’s low. If you look at UMCP Common Data Set (CDS) 2011, the average freshman GPA was 4.01 and only about 5-6% have GPA’s below 3.25. Middle 50% on SAT’s were CR 580 - 680 and Math 610 - 720.

<p>You can try with your NJ GPA, but your Math SAT is bottom quarter. Maybe admissions will know how to convert a NJ GPA into an MD one or will consider the grade improvement.</p>

<p>Penn State is a lot easier than Maryland.</p>

<p>okay, i did apply early action so i’m waiting to hear back… i’ll update the post with my results which will prob only come out Jan 31st. thanks!</p>

<p>rhg3rd - the thing is, it’s a bit late for recruitment, and i have never shown any interest in playing at a collegiate level. although i love my sport, there is no way i would want to play or would even have enough time to show a prospective coach my skill!</p>
