SAT scores CR: 430 Math:400 (i know I know. It's bad. I'm a horrible test taker.)

Thanks!

Tough to call, GPA is great obviously but SAT is as you know, poor. Why didn’t you try the ACT? Since you don’t have APs, does your courseload at least have Honors classes? I say this because there may be red flags if you get a 4.0 with all easy classes then score only a 830/1600.

You have a shot, Penn State is not difficult to get into. However don’t be too confident or you may be setting yourself up for disappointment.

P.S. I hope you didn’t include the NSHSS on your app. I got a letter from them a while ago and it seemed very fishy. A quick Google showed that it was a blatant scam and membership means nothing to colleges.

yes all core courses are honor classes. But oh dang. I did include the NSHSS. Friend said it did help get into his college. So I don’t know. Hopefully it isn’t bad :/

but I wasn’t able to take the ACT since I was always out of town for tournaments :/

It shouldn’t be negative or anything, I just don’t think it would do any good especially since it took up words on your resume.

I guess no one can ever know if it actually helped or hurt, but when you think about it, it’s not much of an honors society when they ask for your money only to enter you for opportunities to win tiny scholarships.

Like I said it sucks that your SAT is so low, but it’s definitely possible your GPA/ECs could make up for that. Best of luck!
