Penn State Change of Admission Decision?

I applied Early Action to Elon and did not get in. After this, I really had to think about where else i wanted to go. I couldn't see myself much at other places, so it was hard to do the college search mid application season. After this heartbreak I became set on Penn State, but found out I was only accepted to Penn State Altoona campus. I am not even considering Altoona, and I have emailed admissions because I heard that around this time it is possible for them to switch my admissions decision to University Park. I am not sure if I emailed the wrong person or not, but what I received back was a generic email telling me how great Altoona was and that I can transfer to University Park after 2 years at Altoona. I can really see myself going to University Park, but don't know what to do!! Any suggestions on who to email/call and what to say???

****Also, I have now been accepted to Catholic and Saint Joe's. Both schools are extremely expensive for me, and I know my parents are wary about me attending either of them. If nothing can change with Penn State, I really do not know what to do!! It is too late to try and apply to other schools, and I really do not plan on taking a gap year. Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated!!!!

There usually has to be a good reason for them to reconsider you, and if possible, put you in University Park. Not just “I don’t want to go to Altoona” That’s probably what that generic email is trying to tell you.

Apply to Iowa State. They are still taking applications and its not that expensive out of state. Also, look at SUNY Buffalo, its out of state tuition is cheaper than Penn State’s in-state tuition. What a shame for PSU !

Call admissions TOMORROW and ask if you can change to Summer UP.
