In state. General business

Weighted 4.77 on a 6.0 scale

That’s awesome. Congrats again. This proves that GPA is significant but not deciding factor.

Maybe this year a fewer students selected summer start option.

Is it bad that I haven’t received a decision yet? Starting to worry

My son hasn’t heard yet either. I wouldn’t worry! When did you apply?

He applied end of September- digital arts and media design major

October 5th

I don’t think when you applied is a consideration. An admission counselor said they view all early as same

Beginning to get worried
even though I KNOW decisions come out until Dec 23rd. And I KNOW there is no rhyme or reason. My son is currently a junior at PSU and received his EA acceptance on Dec 20th(with summer start). My daughter has much stronger GPA and similar ECs etc. Really thought she would have heard by now. Based on absolutely nothing other than hope. Anyhow, just posting to say I’m here with you to all the others still waiting and anxiously checking for that TO button to disappear.

Did your daughter also choose summer start?

Yes, she did. For my son it was virtual (COVID)so he didn’t really have a true experience.

My daughter was just accepted to Smeal, but with a required Summer session.
They have her as Business Administration. She wants accounting. Would that potentially be a “change in major” that could seem getting a reconsideration for a Fall term start?

Is switching to DUS a problem for transferring back into Smeal in Sophomore year?

When did she hear? Mind sharing her stats?
What they told me. They will hold your original decision and you can reapply. I believe it shouldn’t be a problem. As smeal is not a direct admission. And you still need to apply with a certain GPA to the individual major

Stats:
98 GPA
3AP, lots of honors, 2 Dual enrollment courses

  • 4 business related elective classes in high school
    Did not send SAT score
    Top 5% in her class

In state student.
