Yes, my S22 did have ‘summer start’ selected as an option. He’s taken several computer programming classes in high school. No AP classes but majority of his classes have been honors.

what are things that are nice about smeal when compared to similar business schools which are direct admits? if you are in-state, then of course smeal is much cheaper.

Sorry, meant to say, said yes to summer, got the fall start.

Did your son apply for summer? My son has the same stats and
was just accepted 2+2 but did not select summer start.

My son also accepted 2+2 with similar stats, he did not select summer option.

Was wondering if not selecting summer was a factor or if they would have offered summer before 2 + 2 option.

They would not evaluate at all for summer if summer start option was not selected.

My son did check that he was willing to start in the summer.
If its helpful to you at all, I’ll offer that he has about 6 honors classes and 1 AP.
On his SAT he got 680 on the Math. We submitted it since that puts him at the 75th percentile on that one particular stat.
And, I graduated from there, so he had that to add.

Adding this for anyone who finds the data points helpful:

Rejected from UP, admission to PS Altoona
3.97 UW
27 ACT-NOT submitted
Top 10% in strong public PA high school who sends about 40 kids per year, generally perceived as a target to high safety, not for Smeal or Nursing however.
4AP/14 honors
Strong ECs and essay
Great LOR (although I realize they are said not to read them)
Applied to Nursing
