Yes. Down for me also

Did anybody receive interview notifications for the PMM program?

no one from our school has received anything. wondering if the in state acceptances are in eastern pa. anyone from western pa received acceptance yet? to engineering?

It seems that most of the acceptances Iā€™m reading about are for those who applied to engineering. Iā€™ve seen a few other majors but the majority is engineering. It sounds like a stupid question, but do they do applications based on certain departments all at the same time?

Every college (ie. engineering vs Smeal
Business vs. Ag) follows their own process. And different colleges have different levels of competitiveness. Looks like engineering was out of the gate quickly with some acceptances, but other colleges are admitting also. Iā€™ve seen all parts of the state as well as OOSā€¦ just be patient - weā€™ve all been there!

Weā€™re OOS, and applied October 30. My son got the big envelope two days ago, and is admitted as a Poly Sci major. Heā€™s thrilled!

Is this thread university park only or covers all campuses? Does how soon you get the decision depend also on which campus you applied?

We are University Park

Does anyone know why people havenā€™t gotten decisions yet this week?

Because decisions are committed to be delivered by December 24th, at the earliest, based on application date, and many schools/majors are in the decision-making process. A small number of acceptances doesnā€™t mean everyone should expect one.

I donā€™t find it odd at all that tens of thousands of decisions arenā€™t out 17 days into a 53 day window.

I do think it is odd that not one person has said they received an decision this week. Taking a quick look at last years forum there were decisions every week. I would expect decisions to trickle out every week to be completed hopefully by December 24th.

I donā€™t find it surprising. On 11/1, they received their EA submissions. They total them together and find the easy admits - the high stats kids. Push admit on those and get them out of the way.

Now comes the hard part - the middle 50%.

They have to figure out where the line is in that group. And TO makes it more complex with potentially less data points. So they are probably reading more essays (hoping you did the optional one if you are in this category), scrutinizing HS transcripts (if you want to go Engineering, have you had Calc?), and figuring out who in that big group is a yes, who is a deferral, who is summer admit (yes or no?), and who is pushed to a commonwealth campus.

So right now they are in the bulk of reviewing all those middle 50%.

There may be high stats kids who havenā€™t heard yet eitherā€¦ but the above analysis is my prediction of what is happening.

And remember - CC is buy a super small subset of what is going on. I know lots of kids from my kidā€™s HS who have heard - but they havenā€™t posted here.

Other than the seven posts in the Decision thread that said students were accepted, in the five days this week?

(compared to the four accepted in the previous five days).

None said they were accepted after 11/13. Meaning none from this week. I get itā€™s a small sample and CC wonā€™t have all decisions. I was just saying, given what happened at penn last Friday, maybe they held off sending decisions this week.

I donā€™t fully agree that they are only reaching out to high stats kids. My son has higher stats than his friend who got in. My son is still waiting.

Just curious, as my daughter yesterday received the same email, did your student reach out to Admissions afterwards? She isnā€™t sure what to do! Again, hoping it is a good sign, though! Not certain if she marked interested in Honors on her Common App, but we are are about 99% sure she didnā€™t (as we reviewed the stats for admissions to Honors and thought it was not attainable).

Did they both apply to the same major?
