Division of Undergraduate Studies. Basically it’s undecided. But you get to choose classes that meet the requirement for Smeal College of Business.
My test optional button in gone as of this morning and I now have an error message
S24 received his Acceptance notification this morning, he submitted on 10/7. ‘Test optional’ button disappeared a little after 5 PM last night. This was similar with my S22, so I had an idea a decision was coming soon. S22 didn’t receive his decision until 1st week of Dec.
Congratulations! Which campus major did she apply.
UP, College of IST
What was the notification? An email?
Congratulations!
No emails or notification. Just had him login this morning to check, based on the ‘TO button’ disappearing the night before.
Congrats to your son. It’s good to see that the process is getting started! I know most won’t hear until December, but it’s always good when those first acceptances go out.
D24 accepted this morning to UP/Smeal. Applied 10/22. OOS. Test optional selection disappeared yesterday.
So he’s test optional on his application? So relieved to know they are accepting test optional to Smeal.
No. She applied with test scores but there was still an option to change her application to not include test scores. That option disappeared yesterday.
Admitted to Bellisario (UP)!!! Applied 9/7 in-state
Congratulations!
Congrats! Please make sure to submit his information to the decisions thread so that others can follow along with stats and acceptances.

Unless your son has super high stats, I would have him call admissions and ask to change his major to DUS (Undecided). Smeal has about a 5% acceptance rate as a freshman. It does not matter whether you are accepted as a freshman or when you apply for the major at the end of your sophomore year. Everyone, no matter when they are accepted, has to complete the entry to major requirements to get into the major. There is very little benefit to getting into Smeal as a freshman. No one is actually IN their major at Penn State until they complete the entry to major requirements (unless it’s a direct entry major such as nursing).
Congratulations!!
Can you please post the stats and gpa etc ?
just posted!

In addition to changing the major to DUS, it might be advantageous to indicate that he is willing to start in the summer, if in fact he is willing and hasn’t already indicated that on his original application. Admission to a summer start is a bit easier than admission to a fall start.
Any word ? None here
