Penn State Early Action for Fall 2024 Admissions

Tell her not to worry. Penn State decision order is random. It is not first in first out.

He ended up staying in Florida.

My daughter got her acceptance last week. The TO link disappeared and she heard the next day. I just wanted to give some information to those of you who are second guessing the test scores submitted. My daughter submitted scores- 30 ACT and 1330 SAT. GPA= 3.83 UW and 4.1 Weighted. Six AP classes, 3 dual enrollment classes, and many honors classes. Fun extracurriculars (marching band, choir, theatre, dance, NHS, work), but nothing that would be considered spectacular. She was accepted to the college of education for secondary education mathematics at university park, fall 24. I just learned that the college of education may be easier to get into than others, but I wanted to send some hope to those who submitted SAT scores that aren’t in the 1400-1600 range. I spent some time searching this board for sub-1400 admissions success stories in the past month and I just wanted to add this one to the mix. Best wishes to all of your talented and deserving students!

Doesn’t Penn State know how much merchandise they could sell if they sent out more acceptances sooner than later. I could purchase a lot of Christmas gifts

I appreciate your help. This process is even more anxiety ridden than I expected!

Does anyone know if the admissions office is working this week seeing that school is closed for breatk?

I looked at last years thread and people were posting that they got notification even the day before Thanksgiving.
However, it was then quite again until December 2nd I think.

Administration works year round but similar to most any other jobs - they likely get Thurs/Fri off this week and a lot of people probably take PTO early in the week.

They are off wed-Friday this year.

Agreed. My daughter was accepted into Communications w/ an SAT of 1370.

My son’s portal changed this morning, so I think a decision is coming soon. He marked that he would go in summer if necessary. However, he has signed up to go to Japan with his high school for 9 days, and the dates are during LEAP. Does anyone know if he didn’t get in for FALL, does the LEAP decision come right away? Or does it come out later if they determine NO to FALL and YES to LEAP? Has anyone every said yes to summer and had to call and ask to switch to fall? The reason I am asking is because now the portal shows 3 brochure downloads for admitted students and one of them is the LEAP brochure. Not sure if this goes to everyone or just LEAP students. I think he has the stats for fall, but you never know! He applied:

Fall (with yes to summer in doesn’t get in for FALL)
DUS
4.0
1440(690 English, 750 Math)
5 AP
4 Honors
5 Dual enrollment
Mini-THON Finance Committee Chair
Varsity Golf

I think the LEAP brochure is there for everyone.

You should be able to find his admission letter in Lion Path under “communication.”

Oh thanks! How do we get to Lionpath? Is that a different log in or site? Can I get there from the MyPennState page?
