Penn State engineering

Hi,

I was recently accepted to Penn State University Park for aerospace engineering but apart from its 10th spot in US news rankings I really have not heard much about this school's aero program. For example I have read lots of good opinions about TAMU AeroE which is 2 spots lower in this year's ranking. So is it an accident that PSU is that high in the rankings for AeroE this year or is it that good?

Also do you think choosing PSU over UIUC which is 8th in the rankings would be a bad decision?

Thanks for feedback.

You are debating between three schools that are “ranked” 8, 10, and 12 in a ranking system that is already flawed and so cannot be used to really judge the difference between those three numbers. Seriously, you’ll be fine at any of those three. Just go where you will fit in the best.

I realize that AeroE ranking suggests that the three schools are comparable however for engineering Penn State is about 15 spots lower than UIUC and 10 spots lower than TAMU which are considerable differences. That is why I asked if aerospace program there is really that good or is placed at UIUC/TAMU level in the ranking accidentally this year. Thanks.

Edit: I ask this question because I like PSU the best but I am not sure if UIUC/TAMU would not be better places for aerospace engineering.
