Penn State for Undecided Major vs. Pitt

My D is choosing between Penn State and Pitt for an undecided major.

Hoping that a current Penn State student/parent can advise as to how the "undecided" major (Div of Undergraduate studies) works in practice as PSU. How is the advising for undecided students? Are students who begin as "undecided" typically able to graduate in 4 years once they decide on a major or do they end up behind because they have not started the major requirements in the first year?

Thanks for any advice from DUS students/parents!

My son decided on Pitt because we did not feel we had a full understanding of his options as an undecided student at PSU. He is a freshman at Pitt, loves it. Is seems easier there to get your “bases covered” for different option so that you don’t get behind. It is very easy to pull off each program’s requirements from the website and find courses that overlap different majors. Many students wind up being able to dual major or major/minor without spending extra sememsters. Good luck!
