Hello,
I recently got accepted into Penn State University Park, but since I didnt register for housing on time, I can't attend!!!! I called yesterday and was told that even my second choice Penn State Altoona has no more housing available either...soo I'm basically out of luck.
My only hope is to attend one of their other campuses, that have housing such as: Hazleton, Beaver, and Schuylkill.
I really want to go to U park and I'm thinking about sucking it up for two years and attending Hazleton [its closest] and later transfer to U park. I'm really worried that the professors won't be as good and that the education will be EXTREMELY WATERED DOWN. Also that I will be stuck in some little town with nothing to do. So if anyone has any advice it will be greatly appreciated because I dont know what to do!!!!! Is going to Hazleton worth it?....I heard if you dont go to U Park you just shouldnt go to any other campus but I dont know if that's even true. Please help me
THANK-YOU ;)

You’ll find better help there.

i go to PSU hazleton right now almost done w/ my 2nd semester.

Academics- painfully easy. a cow can get a 3.0 GPA

Area - coming from a pretty affluent area on the jersey shore, hazleton is a BIG change.
if you’re used to the city then this ISNT for you (i learned the hard way). the nicest car on campus is probably a toyota camry. outside of campus $400 cars are plenty.

Social scene- DIES on the weekend. i usually head to manhattan . parties usually on thurs right offcampus depending on who you know.

overall rating = C-
