Hey, I'm applying for Penn State in the School of Nursing program.
I would like to know if anybody else had previously applied to the program and got accepted/denied with the show of your high school GPA and ACT/SAT score?

I basically just want to see the stats. of people who got accepted/denied is, and what is the average stats you need to get into Penn State's nursing program.

Thanks!

PS. It doesn't matter to me of which campus I start with, prefer to start with satellites for the first year.

My daughter is a junior in the nursing program at penn state. Her high school gpa was a weighted 4.05 and her ACT score was a 26. She loves the nursing program so far.

coughlcc: Thanks for replying!! I can imagine what it is like for your daughter as I’m actually living in Hershey: the reason why Penn State is the perfect school for me!

If you don’t mind, can you tell me if she had done anything special during her high school years that you think that had helped her to have a higher chances to get accepted to Penn State nursing program?
Example like volunteering, accelerated science/math courses, recommendation letters, etc.
Thanks, again!

Lynn11 – my daughter played soccer and did some volunteering at church but nothing over the top. Her high school courses did include AP Biology and AP Chemistry. The nursing program is competitive but I think they still view your grades as the most important factor followed by ACT/SAT scores. Be sure to have your application complete before 30 November. Good luck.
