Penn state question

So if anyone knows the difference in what degree you want to major in can change yor individual gpa req. would meterology be a higher end gpa 3.8+ orba lower end 3.6+…

If you mean for freshman admissions, the college the major is housed in will have an effect. Engineering and business are competitive. Earth and Mineral Sciences probably not so much, but GPA is 2/3 of the decision so still keep it as high as you can.

The requirements once enrolled are called entrance to major requirements, and you can look them up: https://advising.psu.edu/entrance-major-requirements-college-earth-and-mineral-sciences-2017 Currently 2.0 is the minimum with a C or better in Calc 1.

Wait does that mean Pre Calc through HS because I will only get to pre calc in high school

The entrance to major requirements are what you complete when you are taking classes at Penn State, so if you’re applying as a freshman don’t worry about those. I wasn’t sure which you meant. Taking through precalc in HS should be fine. The recommended academic plan (scroll down here and choose http://www.ems.psu.edu/current_undergrad_students/academics/course_scheduling/UP) appears to start meteorology students in calc 1 their first semester so you’ll be prepared for that if you’ve taken precalc already.
