penn state-- studio art, scenic design

while i've run through the older posts here, i'm still not sure that i've found what i'm looking for.

as of now, i'll be attending penn state in the fall as an incoming freshman to their college of art and architecture. while i'm set on following a 'creative' major, i'm not sure if penn state is even the best match for my goals, and thus i turn to good ol' CC for some advice.

i know that penn state has a fairly selective graphic design program (one of my interests), but i've heard mixed reviews about how they stack up when it comes to studio art. anyone know the bottom line?

my other budding interest is scenic design, which at PSU falls under the theatre major. since i was admitted for studio art, i'd have to go through a mess of red tape to reschedule my classes for the theatre production option when, in the end, it might be more beneficial to just transfer out to another school.

i know that school hasn't started yet, but i just want to know all of my options and exactly what i'll be getting myself into this fall! with that, could anyone reccomend any good scenic design or theatrical production programs to check out?
