Penn State transfer question?

What does Penn State mean by "No direct transfer admission for the following programs: Aerospace Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering and Mechanical Engineering."

How do I transfer as a Chemical Engineering then? I might attend Altoona

Also what do they mean by, “No transfer admission to Letters, Arts and Sciences except through the World Campus.”

There are several Penn State degrees that require students to have met particular course, GPA, and credit requirements before admission into the degree. The reason for this is so that students can demonstrate their abilities the departments see as important for success in the degree.

I am an adviser for Penn State World Campus, and can answer the question for Letters, Arts, and Sciences. At the other Penn State campuses, there is an application and academic plan portfolio required for admission into this particular degree. For World Campus, the courses for the degree are selected from a predefined list as opposed to a self-defined plan. This allows transfer students to apply directly to the World Campus Letters, Arts, and Sciences program because there is no additional academic plan to design.

You will want to contact the Penn State Altoona Admissions Office for details about their requirements for chemical engineering transfer students. Contact information for Altoona’s Admissions Office is located here[/url”>http://altoona.psu.edu/admissions/transfer.htm]here.
