I know there have been tons of other posts in the previous years about penn state's application status, but i have read all of them and they say that the status has changed 1 week or a couple of days after they submitted everything in.

I applied to university park the first day penn state's application came out and they received everything (SAT scores, transcript) a little more than a week ago. They also need a form submitted by my guidance counselor, which mine said she sent it in. The status of my application is currently "Your application and high school transcript have been received. Please continue to check your status." It has been this way for more than a week now and if they have received everything they needed, why wouldn't it changed to "Your application is complete" or something like that? I am just extremely nervous because penn state is my top school choice and I know it has rolling admissions and since I sent my application in super early, I just want that to work to my advantage.

Does anyone know if I should worry or should I just be patient? Thanks to anyone who responds

Mine said that for like a week, now it has been changed to “Your application is complete and all of your required materials are here.” I don’t know anything else, but I turned in my application about two weeks ago (I got a fee waiver) and applied to SHC. I’m nervous and it’s difficult to be patient. Does anyone know when they begin sending admission notifications?

I know it’s hard when you’re waiting, but you probably have a while to wait. If you apply by Nov 30 you hear back by Jan 31. Last year many people started hearing back in early November if they applied in Sept. My D heard back the first week in Dec. If you check the Penn State thread in the college forum you will see when people start hearing back. They start posting their results.

Wow really!? Mine is still “your application is complete and all of your required materials are here” or something like that. Im so nervous I just want know! If you don’t mind me asking amandaflys, what are your stats? (Gpa, SAT scores, etc) because I’ve read that penn state usually reviews those who have high scores and such first!

just checked this morning… Status changed to “We are reviewing your credentials. A decision will be available here as soon as one is made.” I’m freaking out! i’ve heard that for some, it takes up to two months for them to post their decision. Waiting just makes the whole process more nerve-racking :/

Sorry about the late reply, my stats are as follows

-ACT:24 (Taken once)

-I interviewed with an admissions rep in September and he said he’d put in a good word for me

I chose University Park as my choice campus and engineering as my major.

It’s kind of a safety school for me, but it definitely is my first choice.

-In state
SAT: 1910
GPA: 3.79 W
-9 honors/AP
EC: Track captain, violin, piano, pit orchestra, server at a cookie store, national honor society (although i did not include that in my app… it said no related to school so i wasnt sure i hope it doesn’t strongly effect anything), Alex’s lemonade stand ambassador, and volunteer work.

I chose UP as well for engineering… i also chose summer session to up my chances. I’m so nervous!

It should be fine, I’ve heard that they don’t even look at your ECs unless you’re borderline. Your stats look great, you should definitely be fine.

Hi all I just received my admission to Penn State University Park (College of Liberal Arts; Spanish Major).

I submitted my application September 2nd, and my high school transcripts and everything got completed around the 5th or so.

On Monday (November 12th) my status in MyPennState Account switched from “Confirming Review, will have answer in a couple of days” or something along those lines. I received my acceptance today, November 15th.

Here are my Stats:

SAT: Did not give
ACT: 27 (30 Reading, 26 Math, 26 Science, 28 Writing? And an 8 on my essay?)
GPA: 95.4/100, unweighted
APs/Honors: Yes, most of my classes (besides for sciences) have been honors/accelerated/AP/etc.
Extracurriculars: Four year letter winner, captain of the cheerleading squad, allstar cheerleading, several cheerleading related championship titles/accomplishments, class president, National Honor Society, student government, editor of chief of school paper for two years, misc. volunteering, and one Outstanding Young Woman, local chapter, Miss Congeniality award (it’s a pageant similar to the Miss PA system)
Personal Statement: I would consider it to be strong, I wrote a lot about what Penn State has meant to me growing up (I’m a legacy) and how proud I am of what the University does and how I would aspire to make Penn State proud.

I also applied to Schreyers Honors College (but won’t hear back until February-March).

Mine was like that for about a month-month and a half. But I also got my app in SUPER early so I had to wait longer for them to receive more applicants. Good luck though! Your stats sound super strong :)
