Hi All, just to warn everyone my stats arent anywhere near the people in this board, but I've tried my hardest so I'm happy.

What do you guys think of my chances into the business (not engineering) school? Out of state, from Northern Virginia

SAT: 1240 (650 Math 590 Verbal) (Low, I know. Not a good test taker) SAT II's (620 Math IC 650 Writing)

3.52 Unweighted GPA (94-100 is an A grading scale & from a highly competitive public high school. I'm in about top 20% rank of graduating class)

3.92 unweighted Senior Quarter GPA with 3 AP's

Really Strong Extra-Cirriculars: (National Honor Society, Business Competition Awards, Vice-President of the School, Student Government, Volunteer Work, Community Forums, etc.)

Teacher Rec's aren't looked upon at PSU.
My personal statement was really good I thought, haha. It could only be like 500 LETTERS though, so it was about 7 sentences long.

From this broad amount of information, would you consider Penn State University Park a reach? I applied a month ago, and I'm hoping to hear from them soon.

It looks like you have a good cance, from what I know (which is not much, lol), word on the street is that you'll find out soon (I read on this forum of someone who heard back in about 20 days).

Well...here's my stats. I just got in to Penn State-University Park, but it was more like a safety.

GPA: 3.43 (UW)
ACT: 32
SAT II's: PSU doesn't look at them but 780 Math 2c, 720 Writing, 710 World History
Plenty of EC's, leadership positions, and a good counselor rec.
New York State resident

However, PSU is all about numbers. If you've got a good GPA and pretty good test scroes, you'll be in. I think you'll get in. If you're into business, it would be good for you to have good math scores on your transcript.
