Penn State - University Park chances?

I have a 3.35 gpa, maybe a 3.4 if my current semester grades are counted. I got 1360 on the new SAT and I’ve been enrolled in 11 AP classes and one dual enrollment class. I’m taking BC calc and Physics C Mechanics right now and I was wondering what my chances are for university park out-of-state since they waived my admission fee last week. I also think I wrote a halfway decent essay with no obvious grammatical errors even though it wasn’t required for me.

Did you just apply? To what major? Is that GPA weighted or unweighted? This year the admission cycle is quite different than other years so it’s really hard to tell you - but IN GENERAL, a 3.35 GPA will be offered a 2+2 - start at a commonwealth campus for two years and then go to the main campus for two years. Lots of times OOS students do not want to do this.

did You just apply? I don’t think you would get UP fall but maybe summer or 2+2

I ticked the box that said I would like to be considered for summer enrollment if fall enrollment at UP was not available. I just applied for biomedical engineering and they just received my SAT scores today. I’m completely fine with a summer enrollment at UP so how decent are my chances there?

I would have recommmended engineering at the earth sciences… my kids friend got rejected from engineering with a 4.2 and 1450… I can’t really judge as I have heard they have a waitlist… give them a call and show interest in summer and ask if it’s better to go undeclared at DUS that might help… @gelatinchicken I know that you have to have a 3.5 for UP fall (my son has a 3.7)
