I need to chose b/w penn state and case. I plan to go to medical school. My backup career will be bioengineering so thats probably what i will be majoring in. I take academics seriously but i also like to have fun. I want a place with great academics and great social life. Penn state seems to be all around great, pretty, outgoing and fun but will it be too much of a party school for some one like me? Case western seems to have great academics but i've heard so much about how people are antisocial, and its not fun, will case be too academic for me? i've been to a big school with a class of more then 500 students and a school of class 100 students. i dont care that much about size. I just want a school where i can be happy, fit in, and do well academically. where should i choose?

I would find out the medical school placement rates for case and psu, since that is your goal. This should be an easily accessible statistic. They are both very nice schools, and both on my own son's list. You will find serious students and partiers anywhere.

I read somewhere that that 70odd percent of the people form Case who apply to Case med school get in. Don't trust me completely though since I cannot remember my source.

Anyways, I think you can have a good time at Case. I think you won't have any trouble finding people to chum around with.
