Syracuse was my dream school for a very long time and Syracuse Newhouse was an even bigger dream.

I was initially rejected from newhouse and wait listed from the VPA program and then made myself get excited about my next choice, Penn State.

I just got into VPA at Syracuse off the waitlist and I need to make a decision by the 13th.

SYRACUSE
Cons: far, much more expensive
Pros: was my dream school, large Jewish population, not toooo crazy big, Newhouse (which I would try to transfer into my sophomore year)

PSU
Cons: not as good of a school (so I've heard), smaller Jewish population, no sorority houses
Pros: close to home, cheaper, lots of spirit

My head says penn state but my heart says cuse! Help me out!!

Ha ha. A Syracuse graduate told you that ? For communciations, Syracuse is better. Business programs are pretty similar. Everything else, PSU.

According to PSU’s Hillel Website there are over 6,000 Jewish students on campus [About Us - Penn State Hillel](http://pennstate.hillel.org/home/about.aspx) From looking at the calendar it looks like the Hillel sponsors events every day when it’s not finals. They also sponsor a Jewish alternative spring break, and plenty of other Jewish activities throughout the year. Essentially students at both schools can find a very vibrant Jewish community.

I’d go with Penn State as it’s less expensive, the communications program is still quite good, and I’m not sure the lack of sorority housing is enough of a con to justify the much higher cost of Syracuse.
