Hey. So I have been accepted to both Penn state University Park and UMass Amherst. I am looking to major in business/management/economics. I am confused to choose where to go to. The money and tuition fees don’t matter. I got a $32,000 scholarship for Amherst. I heard that both colleges are good. I want to go to an area which is closer to big cities and has a good town since both are not situated in the city. The area matters to me the most as I grew up in big cities and I want to stay comfortable. I heard that Amherst is named as the Number 1 college town and Penn University Park is right in the middle of the state and situated in a suburban area. Please help me!!!
Penn State is not suburban. State College is a very nice college town but it’s 4 hours to a city.
I’d say, go with Umass Amherst, it seems to fit your criteria better.
Neither are close to cities. UMass is about a 2 hour drive to Boston, maybe a little less, but still a long way. Amherst is a nice college town, but is only about 40,000 people.
