<p>I just looked online.. and I've been wait-listed...anyone else wait-listed?
I looked online and it looks like after November 30th, "the priority deadline", more qualified people got wait-listed, than those who applied b4 the deadline. </p>
<p>Thoughts?
I don't know how I feel...
Wait-listed at Penn State... then what does that mean for V. Tech, James Madison Univ., and U.Va...? </p>
<p>I'm an out of state student by the way for Penn State.</p>
<p>The same thing JUST happened to me. I checked my application status and was (and still am) in complete disbelief… I applied mid-January, after the “priority date”</p>
<p>These are my stats:
Out-of-State (for PSU)
IB Diploma Candidate (all IB classes junior and senior year and pre-IB classes freshmen and sophomore year)</p>
<p>4 years on the staff of school newspaper:
1st year- reporter
2nd year- staff writer
3rd year- lifestyles editor
4th year- editor-in-chief</p>
<p>-National Honor Society (1 year)
-Spanish Honor Society (3 years)
-President of Quill and Scroll Honor Society (2 years)
-English Honor Society (1 year)
-Recycling club (3 years)
-Young Democrats (1 year)
-Volleyball (1 year)
-Future Business Leaders of America (2 years)
-Girl Scouts (12 years)</p>
<p>I’ll also be graduating with six Spanish credits and five math credits.</p>

SAT: 1820/2400 (M: 510, CR: 570, W: 740)</p>
<p>I also applied to Tech and JMU (in-state though) and now I have no idea what my chances are at getting into either since I thought I would be accepted to Penn State…</p>
<p>Omg. Ur SAT score exceeds mine by A LOT! My gpa is like a 3.9 with my senior year grades, but … I guess penn state takes less after the “priority” deadline. </p>
<p>and i thought it was “rolling” pshh… gosh i’m in SUCH shock tho
because i look on collegeboard and i see their stats… and mine FITS/exceeds and i’m just like WOW! and YOU seem more than qualified too! … </p>

<p>Rolling means that instead of considering all applications as a group they accept qualified applicants as they come in. Eventually they will have accepted enough to fill the class. Unfortunately, that had already happened by the time your application was complete. Being waitlisted means that you would have been accepted if you’d had your application in earlier.</p>
<p>SAME exact thing for me!! i applied early december and im waitlisted.</p>
<p>I believe someone posted earlier that in the past the majority of students who were waitlisted eventually got in. PSU is a little more conservative of late after a couple years of having far more students enroll than they had housing for. I also think the economy makes it a little harder to accurately predict their yield.</p>
<p>Does anyone have any information about approx how many students are taken off the waitlist?</p>

<p>Penn State sucks, they jerked around a lot of highly qualified in state kids this year. If you want to go though and it is your dream, more power to you, I wish you the best of luck. That was just my opinion on the matter.</p>

<p>just found out 2 days ago that i got in off of the wait list for UP… 1910 SAT, 4.1 WGPA</p>
<p>Already committed to another school and am sending my “no thank you” for admission in quickly so hopefully somebody else that really wants to go gets the opportunity!</p>

<p>In the admissions presentation we went to, it was made very clear that the later you wait to apply, the harder it would be to get accepted.</p>

<p>Me too!! I have a 29 act 3.9 UW GPA. Really good EC’s. Im also out of sate. I think it was cause we applied after the nov 30th deadline. I got in to university of maryland out of state so i was kinda taken aback when i saw the decision.</p>
<p>I suspect that while slatorade submitted his app on the 29th his scores and/or transcripts arrived after the 30th.</p>
