Penn State, what are my chances? PLEASE HELP.

<p>okay, so when I applied to Penn State (University Park), it wasn't my first choice. But I just visited it and I absolutely loved it and I want to go there more than anything in the world! I applied in September for undecided (division of undergraduate studies) and I still haven't heard back from them and I am getting super nervous and stressed out.</p>

sat: 1640 (best combined), 1580 (best sitting)
class rank: 86/530
3 letters of recommendation</p>

<p>ECs : varsity volleyball, nhs, sadd, literary magazine, political club, key club, executive council, winter volleyball league, club volleyball, dance, and I have a job waitressing. </p>

<p>I wrote my essay about how my uncle went to Penn State and how he has shared the experience with me and how I want to be able to have the same experience and eventually want to be able to share my experience with my family one day. I also wrote about how it has been a dream of mine to participate in THON. </p>

<p>*I did not check yes to the summer program. do you think that will hurt my chances of getting in?</p>

<p>The obvious issue is the SAT…the middle 50% for penn state is 1750-1990 and you’re not too close to that. Given that, it’s still a reach, but your gpa is good which may counterbalance the SAT. It’s still tough to say, but I think it’s still a slight reach.</p>
