I dont know if this would help at all but I have also attended Warren Buffett’s annual shareholder meeting for 3 years now and attended a Wharton fellow stock pitch at Penn during my freshman year. Furthermore I avidly practice yoga.

Dilan: attendance at Buffett’s meeting or being marketed by a Penn grad might be significant to this summer program’s admissions in what manner? I can’t see what the significance of either would be. You’re there to learn, not share anecdotes.

The online application opens on November 1. Wharton will select 120 students to attend LBW, with 60 participating at each campus. LBW will run from July 6 to August 2. The program fee is $6,595 and covers tuition, housing, most meals, activities, and weekend trips.

"Admission to LBW is highly selective. Each year the LBW admissions committee receives many more applications than there are available places. Selections are based on a record of academic excellence, demonstrated leadership, and a genuine interest in developing leadership skills. Admission to LBW is need-blind.

Application for the program requires:

High school transcript (unofficial transcript is acceptable)
School profile (obtained from school office or guidance counselor)
Two letters of recommendation from teachers
Short essay
$75 application fee
It is optional, but we recommend that applicants send in standardized test scores for the LBW application."

"M&TSI selects 50 participants to attend the summer program. Selections will be based on academic achievement, leadership in extracurricular activities (including school and non-school-based activities such as student government, community service, artistic and cultural, and athletic activities), and performance on standardized test scores (SAT, PSAT, or ACT).

The application is completed online. Instructions for submitting supplementary materials are provided in the online application.

The online application for M&TSI 2014 will be availabe in January 2014.

In addition to the online application, please submit the following supplementary materials:

Official high school transcript (including Fall 2013 grades)
Two letters of recommendation from teachers (preferably one math or science teacher) in standard letter format. Letters may be submitted electronically or via standard mail.
500 word essay on the following topic: Recall an experience that sparked your interest in studying both management and technology concurrently. Reflect on your experience as it relates to your interest in attending the Management & Technology Summer Institute.
Test Scores: SAT or ACT exams. If the SAT has not been taken, please submit PSAT scores. TOEFL exams are required for non-native English speakers. Photocopies of test scores will be accepted. To request sending your PSAT or SAT scores directly from the College Board, M&TSI is listed under CEEB code 6970."

Hi! I actually participated in Leadership in the Business World this past summer. I would highly recommend it. Based on your information, I think you have a good chance of getting accepted! Just keep in mind the importance of essays in showcasing your leadership. Best of luck! :)
