Hi. So I am just wondering if you go to UPenn as an undergrad, does it give you more advantages when you are applying to UPenn grad school (compared to the applicants from other schools) ? If you major something like English or biology in CAS, does it give you advantages when you apply to Penn's Medical School (Grad)?

Penn usually doesn’t like to “double-dip” but if you’re at Penn for undergrad, you can research and otherwise network with grad school staff, which will give you a leg up.

^ WOW. So being a Penn undergrad actually give u disadvantages when you apply to Penn’s grad school? (I dont care about the networking thing).

Actually, I believe that it does confer an advantage, although probably less for PhD than MD/JD/MBA.

However, if you do important research with a faculty member, they can vouch for your PhD application - this would be very helpful.
