Very different schools granted (intellectual vs pre professional), but which one would you say has the better reputation with employers, academics, and the general public? Also, both schools seem to be on the rise... Which one was more prestigious historically and which one do you predict to be more prestigious in the future?

UChicago>>>>University of Penn State

UPenn, not Penn State.

Coin toss, which one do you like better?

Overall, neither has an edge over the other, unless an alumnus or a specific major is involved. If you get admitted to both, it’s a nice problem to have, until then, don’t worry about it.

UPenn>>>>University Of Illinois- Chicago

Your asking a question with a subjective, unquantifiable answer. Don’t even bother trying to figure this one out - if you’re deciding between them go on whichever one you like better.

I Agree with what LordC said. Pick the school you would ACTUALLY enjoy.

take a look at the game tonight. Philly’s leading by a touchdown and about to score again. Chicago is losing. So go with UPenn. Ooops, Philly scored again, so there’re now 14 reasons to go to Penn.

Two great schools with great exit opps for jobs and grad school. Go with whichever is a better fit for you.

I actually got into Wharton early and deferred at Chicago, so I’ve gone through applying to both of these schools. PM me if you want advice.

I would say Penn is slightly better for jobs right out of undergrad since so many companies will be recruiting there (especially because of Wharton) and Chicago is slightly better for grad school/PhD admission.

I give Penn the edge in jobs, maybe Chicago the edge in academics, and I’d give prestige to the regions of the universities (i.e. Chicago in the Midwest, Penn is the east.)

Tell us in which field and in which jobs you are interested…

Chicago…
