I have narrowed my early decision choice to these two. Why is Cornell better than Penn?

Cornell. Because there are less pre-professional whores and the party scene is wayyy better.

^ Wooow Cayuga, great reasons.

ew, change your sn and then repost

If you're the type of person who can love Wharton, then you only belong at Penn.

And btw I was accepted by both and chose Cornell, mainly for the reasons CayugaRed touched upon.

Nah, we don't want him at Penn, he made the same stupid threads in our forum D:

rofl! ^^ 10char

Is it wrong for me to ask people from both schools why they like one better than the other? Stop being a ***** Eloquence and stop tracking my posts and get a life.
About the ID, it was a stupid name I made at the time when I liked Wharton a lot. Now I don't know how to change the name.
Anyway I am looking to Cornell people to tell me why they like Cornell so much/why I should go there over Penn

If you're looking for a very impressive business school to put on a resume, go with Wharton.

Obviously if you ask Cornellians, they will say Cornell is better. I love the school because of the gorgeous environment, and I love how the student body is intelligent and competitive, but also knows how to party and have fun. Ithaca is also a cool college town. Cornell is big and diverse and there's a niche for everyone.

Because you have the rest of your life to spend it in cities?

Because it is much cheaper to have fun in Ithaca than to have fun in Philly?

Because we're the school that has the hockey team, and also appears to have the basketball team to beat over the next couple of years. Much to Penn's chagrin.

Unless you're going to Wharton, academics and prestige seem to be on par for both schools, so you should go for the school you feel will give you a better experiences. And CayugaRed's already given you some good reasons to consider Cornell.

Yup yup..I agree with Cayuga. Cornell also tends to have the most diverse undergrad student body, while Penn is mainly upperclass types.

And..lol @ Eloquence "We don't want him at Penn"

You should apply to Wharton.

Decide based on fit. In my opinion, Philly is a pretty crappy city (this is the impression I got when I stayed for a weekend in Penn last April). Also, I didn't like the people at Penn too much when I stayed for the admitted students weekend - many seemed not to be intellectual and most of them seemed faarrr too preprofessional in my opinion.

And then there was the whole Wharton vs. rest of Penn dichotomy. I really felt this when I stayed there... I mean - non Wharton students are not allowed to rent rooms in really nice Wharton buildings such as Huntsman Hall. Their bookstore only sells Wharton sweatshirts but fails to sell engineering, CAS, or Nursing sweatshirts. Every other person I met wanted to do a dual degree with Wharton. As a prospective non-Wharton student, I felt like a second class citizen. But hey since you want to apply to Wharton, I guess this doesn't really matter.

Don't fall for the whole "social Ivy sterotype" because I guarantee you Cornell is just as social if not more social than Penn.

I've heard that the student life is pretty boring at Cornell because Ithica doesn't have much to offer. Since the students are pretty in the Cornell bubble, they are always stressed and thinking about school. How true is that? What else do students do to unwind besides drinking till they pass out?

If you're going to inquire about Cornell....at least spell Ithaca right

You have a very misinformed view of Cornell. Plenty of people don't drink here.

When you have 13,000 undergraduates at your school, trust me, there is plenty to do no matter where you are located. Cornell is like a town by itself.

We don't want him at Cornell either

Why are you guys so harsh to this kid? All he/she did was choose a stupid sn when they joined. You don't know anything about him/her.

dude you need to give us some parameters in your question, ask us specific questions about cornell so you can make your own decision as to which is better. I know a ton about cornell but almost nothing about UPENN.
