Acceptance rates are higher ED, so if you're positive it's your first choice and you would go if accepted, go for it.

Business experience is NOT mandatory. I had no business courses, econ courses, no DECA, no FBLA, no starting my own business or interning for one, etc, and I got in. I wasn't valedictorian (or close to it) and I didn't have perfect SATs or anything, either.

Did you choose to apply ED, sweetnsarah?

I applied ED, but was deferred/accepted

Hey sweetnsarah, what were your stats? And how were your ECs?

Does anyone know what the ED rate for Wharton is?

It's like 57%.

nah its like 18

wow that's really low for ED... considering that Harvard has like a 20some percent for SCEA...

Wharton has an overall acceptance rate of 12%... if ED is really 18% then there isn't that much of an advantage applying early is there?

um that stat analysis you just did is completely flawed, think about it, 18/12 = 3/2, so proportionate to the respective ED and RD pools, 3 kids get in ED for every 2 that get in RD. You could be that 3rd kid. It's a 50% improvement in your likelihood. I guess that stat is a little skewed, as the ED pool is inherently self-selecting, but nevertheless the percentage difference is considerable.

lol... you make a good point, but I guess I was trying to emphasis the fact that if guguru is right... then Wharton ED is still really tough to get in than the College... the college has a 34% (around there) ED rate

I heard somewhere that the ED rate was in the upper 30s for Wharton. Is it really that low?

It's strange.. I can't seem to find stats for it.

FYI, a lot of people are accepted ED. In my freshman hall, I distinctly remember being one of only a handfull who was accepted RD (there were 15-20 people in my hall mind you).

its 17% early, 8 % regular. and 11% overall

is it really? where did u get these stats... the ED rate is really low...

I don't know how accurate it is though...

Ya that's the acceptance rate for both RD and ED

"Penn accepted a record low of 17.7% of applicants this year, accepting 3622 out of 20,479 applicants. The acceptance rate for just the regular round was 13.8% as compared to** 28.6% for early**. "

And next year should be harder with the common app.

It doesn't tell you about the ED rate to Wharton specifically.
