<p>So as an incoming freshman, is this true in my case? Or can I change my e-mail address to something more standard, like <a href=“mailto:FirstInitialLastName@school.upenn.edu”>FirstInitialLastName@school.upenn.edu</a>?</p>

<p>No I don't think it's possible to do that under normal circumstances. When you graduate, you can get an alumni.upenn email with a different username.</p>
<p>inzim........if it is offensive you should contact IT and make a request for some help. You seem to imply that the random selection is offensive and that is your reason for not using it.</p>
