PennKey

What exactly is it, what purpose does it serve and when do we get one?

Your Penn Key serves as a username that you will use to log in to almost every facet of Penn’s online services. This includes, but is definitely not limited to, Penn In Touch (where you can register for classes, vote for student body representatives, and check your transcript), BlackBoard (where you can check your grades, check homework assignments, and interact with professors), and Campus Express Online (where you can view your housing assignment, pick a dining plan, and create a Penn email account).

Your Penn Key is also the first part of your email address. So if your email is johnsmith@sas.upenn.edu, your Penn Key is johnsmith.

You should receive a letter in the mail with a setup code that you can use to create your Penn Key at [Welcome to PennKey](http://www.upenn.edu/computing/pennkey/). These letters are usually mailed out a couple of weeks after you are admitted. Be careful what you make your Penn Key, because it will be the first part of your email address.

^^
Does the PennKey come in December or April for Early admits?

I didn’t get one so it better be April…

You pick it… I think mine was over the summer? Or May maybe? idk

Aww, the Penn Key is great. :)
