Penn's RIVAL

does Penn have a rival as fierce as YALE/HARVARD?

uh, we do have a rival; that rival being princeton. as fierce as theirs, tho? i dunno

get real, Harvard is way ahead of Yale and others as of now. It is one sided rivalry. Penn beats Columbia and Cornell in mosr cases. some time it beats HYP. Trouble is that around 47% kids come in ED with many of them are beat and brightest in each school top 10% or cum laude types. Yield would suggest that Penn is competing more with pton/columbia/cornell/brown.

well, i interpreted the question as being like.. how fierce the rivalry is, since the example was b/t two schools (which i don't know).

Had UPENN play Stanford, it would get its ass badly kicked.

penn is and ivy league school with Harvard Yale Pton etc caliber. While
Leland stanfurd Jr College is regional player along with UCB, UCLA, UAZ UOR UWA. So it is regional where USC and UCLA beat LSJC all the time. some time it get beat by UCB( remember the kick return with tackle by stanfurd band)

Who cares, we won the NACDA Directors Cup for 9 straight years.

NACDA Directors Cup

The NACDA Director's Cup is an award given annually by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics to the colleges and universities with the most success in collegiate athletic championships.

And it is not a regional player. stupid. It's in division I, competing against other schools like North Carolina, UCLA, Arizona, and Florida.

Year First Second Third Fourth Fifth
1994-95 Stanford North Carolina UCLA Arizona Florida
1995-96 Stanford UCLA Florida Texas Michigan
1996-97 Stanford North Carolina UCLA Nebraska Florida
1997-98 Stanford North Carolina and Florida (tie) UCLA Michigan
1998-99 Stanford Georgia Penn State Florida UCLA
1999-2000 Stanford UCLA Michigan Penn State North Carolina
2000-01 Stanford UCLA Georgia Michigan Arizona
2001-02 Stanford Texas Florida North Carolina UCLA
2002-03 Stanford Texas Ohio State Michigan Penn State
2003-04 Stanford Michigan UCLA Ohio State Georgia
2004-05 Stanford Texas UCLA Michigan Duke

Got it: Stanfurd peer schools: UCLA, Florida, Michigan Ohio St Georgia.
Thanks

Stanford is an extremely good school, and it's technically Leland Stanford Junior University.

Penn's rival is Princeton. It isn't as fierce as the Yale/Harvard rivalry. None is.

haha. i'm pretty sure beethoven was able to appreciate his own symphony

also, i don't understand why baba is trying to belittle stanford. did s/he get rejected and has a personal grudge or something?

Most likely. That's how these grudges start.

I don't think UPenn is a rival with Princeton. I love how you guys keep disseminating this unsubstantiated claim that UPenn can even approach Princeton.

Someone has a superiority complex lol.

Penn's rival is Princeton... When Zant told some football players at PTon that I was going to Penn, they all gave these like "Ohhhhh!" gasps or whatever... I don't know what exactly happened lol.

It's funny how like half the people understand the question and half don't. What he meant was (I'm pretty sure) does Penn have a rival in terms of just school spirit/hatred/athletics. And the correct answer...as many noted...is Princeton. This is not to say that Penn has the same amount of prestige as Princeton (it doesn't). School don't have to be equal in prestige to have a good rivalry. Look at Cal and Stanford or Duke and UNC. UNC and Cal are both good schools, but stanford and duke are definitely considered "better" ones overall.

Good point PITS :) (rofl)

only Havard & Yale and Princeton & Yale have played more times

http://www.1122productions.com/rivalries/most-played.html

The game is always the last game of the year for each and generally played on the same weekend as Harvard - Yale

Wow Yale owns their faces

k so PENN and PRINCETON?

You are correct.

I would hardly call a school a rival when it is so lopsided, but whatever floats your boat.
