People accepted to Oxford of Emory

Everyone who was accepted @ Oxford College of Emory,
could you tell me your stats (GPA weighted and unweighted, SAT (scores in each section), AP classes, and ECs) that got you in?
I am applying Early Decision senior year for Oxford. My grades just aren't good enough for the main Emory U.
Looking forward to all your responses!
Thanks!

I was accepted last year with an Oxford-recalculated 3.5 ([Oxford College - GPA Calculator](http://oxford.emory.edu/admission/gpa_calculator/)) and a 2120 SAT: 800 CR, 640 M, 680 W.

It’s difficult to predict Oxford admissions from one year to the next. Two years ago, Oxford accepted 66% of those who applied. Last year, it accepted 44%. This year, we reportedly have almost twice the number of applications as last year. Additionally, this is the first year Oxford has early decision. Considering Oxford’s yield rate, every time they admit an ED applicant, that’s 2 RD applicants they don’t need to offer admission to.

Why don’t you share with us your Oxford-recalculated GPA, SAT/PSAT/ACT scores, and a little about your ECs so we can give you some sort of indication of your competitiveness?

Thanks for the reply and useful information!
My stats are:
Oxford-recalculated GPA: 3.5
SAT - 2020 (M 760, CR 620, W 640) Any tips on CR and W?
SAT II - 780 (Math II), 730 (Chemistry), 800 (Japanese w/ Listening)
PSAT - 203
ACT - Not planning on taking it.
^I’m a junior so I can retake some tests and raise scores a bit.
ECs - Varsity Indoor Track, Varsity Outdoor Track
- Boy Scouts (Getting Eagle soon), Senior Patrol Leader
- Lots of volunteer hours from Boy Scouts
Yeah, I don’t have a lot of extracurriculars… Will this hurt me?
APs (includes APs I’ll be taking next year) - Calc AB, Chemistry, European History, Statistics, Computer Science, Gym

Chance me? Thanks!

I didn’t really prep for the SAT. The usual prep books probably aren’t going to tell you much you don’t already know because of your already-high score. I’d recommend Baron’s 2400, which you can get on Amazon for like $1. I only read the critical reading part of the book, but I found it quite helpful.

Unless the admissions profile changes radically this year, I think you have a very good chance of admission at Oxford. Do well in your classes this semester and next semester; pick your recommenders carefully; and make sure to demonstrate a lot of interest. I’ll PM you about the last one.

@ydp123: I encourage you to apply to BOTH Oxford and Emory colleges.

It’s true that grades are an important factor within admission process, but Emory will look at you holistically. Go for it. You have nothing to lose and the returns are way worth it. If you get accepted, amazing! If not, don’t be discouraged.

@aigiqinf: I’ll try to get that book. I really need to improve on CR and W.
And that’s pretty impressive getting a 2120 without studying much. BTW, I have not received your PM yet.
@BlackBunny103: I’ll definitely try, but can I apply ED for both schools? (This might be a stupid question.)
Thank you both for your input!

Sorry, I’ll get that to you soon. Got a little caught up with midterms.

Actually, yes. If you apply to both Oxford and Emory Colleges ED, you have until the deadline to choose between the two.
