What did your freshman schedule consist of? did you take classes over the summer?

I got accepted to Penn, but my schedule is a bit weird because I started at a CCC as a high school senior. Still, if you want to know my real “freshman schedule” sans the classes I did as a high school senior, I did:

Fall semester:
-Writing 2 (the highest writing class)
-Sociology
-Humanities
-Brit Lit

Spring semester:
-Honors theatre appreciation
-Honors history
-Geology
-Stats
-Brit lit
-Ballroom

The all cc as a hs is a bit unorthodox where I’m from. I might apply to upenn but doubt it will happen.

Does this predicted schedule seem rigorous for a transfer?

Major: Something that’s pre-law
Minor: French

Summer
History of US to 1900 (online from local CC)

Fall Quarter:
(Required) Explore the city Seminar 111
Calculus I (my school does not have a calc test asldjfhaskjdfhalk, but i will coerce me advisor somehow to let me place higher)
writing 103
French (Don’t know what level I want to start at)
C/C++ programming 1 276

Winter quarter: (honors program)
English class (undecided)
Calc II
French
C/C++ programming II 277
A History or sociology Class (undecided)
undecided

Spring quarter: honors
Multi variable calc
French
Principles of biotechnology 250
undecided
undecided

That schedule seems great. Are you taking some of those classes because you are interested in them? I don’t think something like your biotech class will transfer. Do you like math/good at it? Or are you doing it because you think it shows rigor? Make sure to check prerequisites for the schools you want to transfer to. Some schools ask for nothing in particular like Rice or NU. Some are pretty specific like Cornell or UIUC.
My schedule was
Summer: Calc III, Lin Alg
Fall: FORTRAN, Diff Eq, Stats, Psych, Orgo I
Spring: Macroecon, English I, Therm/Quantum Physics, Orgo II
CC to Northwestern this coming fall
btw are you going to Depaul, I notice your explore the city seminar

I am interested in most of the classes, however, I think the rigor of my classes is not on par with yours lol. I am good at math and somewhat passionate in biotech/biomed, but not enough to make me major in engineering. I’m debating on taking Calc I and Calc II over the summer so that I can start out in Multivariable calc III in the fall. Thanks for the prerequisite reminder, UIUC is strict lol. I am going to DePaul next year, I did not know DePaul was the only school that required that class. Also, I hate the quarter system, but congrats on Northwestern!

I don’t know if this “counts,” but I’m transferring from Georgetown to Middlebury (not a university, but a great LAC) and couldn’t be more psyched for Midd!

As far as classes go, I went for a healthy mix of gen eds and personal interests. Do what interests you (those classes tend to be your strongest ones), but on the chance you remain at your present university, go for a few gen eds as well! You’ll be pleased you did, should you choose to remain.

Just took fun classes such soc 101 and psych 101 intro to stats intro to voice 136 3 pe credits abnormal psych some odd math class with no numbers and just true false.i got into chapel hil.i did get almost all A’s however.

I am going to Penn as a transfer next year, and if the school you are trying to transfer to doesnt have any requirements for transfers, which I think Notre Dame had when I was looking, EXPLORE. I was taking bio, calc, drama, and russian history last semester. They dont correspond at all but I was interested in what each one. You will do best in the classes you want to take, in whichever fields they fall into.

Skiboom - I was looking for people who transferred from lower ranked universities. Also, congrats, although Georgetown and Middleton are just about on par with each other.

Somebeast - I can’t tell if you’re trolling or being serious about your schedule

MCYfan - In a conventional sense that is true. Congrats!
