One of my friends just got an email today stating that she got into Trinity, and I'm just wondering if this is normal..like should I be worried? I got an email saying to login on March 29th midday to see the decision, so why is my friend getting notification? I'm worried and the only possible reasonings that I can think of is that she did not apply for any financial aid, or that they just really wanted her? Just wondering any thoughts? Waiting is so hard!

My S has not heard from Trinity yet…but Trinity is a reach for him, so we aren’t really holding out much hope…
Gracieo

I did not get or hear anything…I probobly wouldn’t think to much about it. im still expecting the email on thursday…(seems so far away )

The email to me says decision will be available online midday 29 March…

Yes, I got the same email saying to log on midday on March 29th (This THURSDAY!!!) But I was just wondering if anyone knows why they send out early emails like this. My friend got it yesterday…Im glad no one else has heard tho

Dear,

I would like to commend you for your successful application to Trinity College! If you havent already, you will soon receive an official letter of acceptance to the Class of 2016 from Larry Dow, Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid. We hope that you and your family will be able to join us on April 16 or 17 during V.I.P. Days, a program designed for admitted students and their families. During this time you will learn more about Trinity and the various programs that will be available to you over the next four years.

We would also like to give you an opportunity to learn more about the multicultural aspects of the College, and to interact with some of our student leaders through an extended overnight program. As an overnight guest, you will stay in a residence hall with Trinity students and explore life on campus. Our student hosts look forward to sharing their insights and experiences, as well as their reasons for choosing Trinity.

Registration will take place on Monday, April 16, from 4:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Admissions Building. Family members are invited to join us for dinner at 5:30 p.m. The program will conclude on Tuesday, April 17 at 3:00 p.m. Housing and meal costs will be covered by the College; if needed, financial assistance will be provided to help cover transportation costs.

If you are planning to stay for the overnight during V.I.P. Days, please complete the reply certificate, emergency contact form, and integrity contract. These forms must be faxed or scanned and sent via email to Carmen Montanez by Friday, April 6, 2012. A tentative copy of the schedule can be found in the hyperlink.

Haha so that’s like a “likely email” then? I think they choose the admitted students who can travel to the school quite easily for the invitation to this “VIP Days”

I got a letter in the mail today along with a brochure about their guided study programs. The letter started off by saying that they have been notified that I was an applicant with excellent academic qualifications (or something along those lines). Does this mean anything or did they send that to everyone?

are you ****ing kidding me?!does this mean everyone else was rejected??? y stats were pretty damn high…ive been rejected from the ivies iveapplied to so far, but Trinity should be a saftey for me!!!

i don’t think it means “everyone else was rejected”… i don’t know if it even means anything. what are your stats?

Note that the email is from someone in Multicultural Recruitment. It sounds like your friend is a minority. If this is true than the many people would not have received this email. Phew! My daughter is still waiting to hear from Trinity. Thankfully already has been accepted at WPI.

i really hope that i get in…ive only been accepted to one school so far–cu boulder. dont wanna go there, as i live here, and i know what the school is like.

the e-mail says we will hear back on the 29th- so therefore you should wait to hear back on the 29th. no need to freak out prematurely.

Hi Ivy12375…funny…My S also applied to Trinity and CU Boulder. We also live in Colorado. He’s also been accepted to CU Boulder. It’s his #2. Where else did you apply? He’s waiting to hear from Trinity and Lafayette. He was also accepted to New College in Florida. Gracieo

gracieo: I also applied to Brown, UChicago (both of which I was rejected from :(…), Hampshire, Dartmouth and Amherst. Congrats on his acceptances! Think I also might apply to CU Denver

Ivy12375 - Just wondering why you are so averse to attending CU Boulder. It’s not my first choice for my S, but he liked it a lot and I do think he would probably be fine there. I’m not to happy about the size (too big) and the party reputation…but I guess the party atmosphere can be part of just about any college experience. Gracieo

I have to agree with LINCOEL, I’d bet these people are minorities, and that most of the RD’s are to be sent out on the 28/29 schedule…

Likely letters can come out this late, especially to minority applicants, not just the high achieving ones…

AND HOW DOES ANYONE KNOW IF THEY’VE BEEN REJECTED FROM BROWN, Ivy day isn’t until later?

Did they give you an actual reject letter or were you an ED I type of candidate, and then did EDII for chicago? I don’t know the early policies for either, but I DO know that i don’t want a rejection from brown!!!

Idk I think I’ve just got this thing where I want to go out of state and get away from everything. I know SO many people from my school who will be attending CU and I’m really shy. In college, I intend to open up a lot more and I don’t really wanna be around any of the same people to do so. I care too much about what people think lol. Also the fact that the school is SO large and I know I would do better in a smaller environment because I’m not a people person. Plus I’m not interested in being associated with “the number 1 party school in the nation”…I know its an excellent school for acedemics, but I feel like theres somewhere else that I would do much better. Who knows though. I might end up attending if I’m not accepted anywhere else. May I ask what city you guys live in? I’m in Conifer

I applied ED to Brown and EA to Chicago. I heard from both within the same month. It was SO disappointing. :(

I also got that letter so I guess I’ve been accepted to Trinity. Yay.

@Ivy12375 - We live in SouthWest Littleton. Not far from you at all. The only in state school my son applied to was CU. I think he would be equally happy in our out of state but he sort of wants a smaller school. I wanted him to apply to Mines, but he refused - way too close to home. At least CU is about 45 minutes away!

I can’t remember your stats - but I think I’ve seen them and I think they are better than my son’s - so you probably have a better shot at Trinity than my son. Trinity was a reach for him.

What do you want to study? Did you consider DU?

Gracieo
